What Comes of a New Beginning:

the travels of friends, the telling of new(s)...

Don’t think. Thinking is the enemy of creativity. It’s self-conscious and anything self-conscious is lousy. You can’t “try” to do things. You simply “must” do things.

Who’d Have Thunk?

We were one of four Tallahassee bands to be invited to play Battle of the Bands at Engine Room March 2nd.

How ‘bout them apples?

I have a new goal in life.

sightofyourdemons:

I will hibernate in a bass drum, with an iPod that only has the Mutemath discography. As I am in deep slumber, my subconscious mind will learn every beat to every Mutemath song ever. I will awaken several months later and maybe, just maybe I’ll have an ounce of Darren King’s talent.

Studio [Day 2]

Finished tracking drums (Brian nailed it).

Tracked guitar parts (I guess I nailed it).

Even finished up bass (James nailed it).

Of course, we grabbed a little Pitaria to keep the creative juices flowing.

My recording rig made me warm and fuzzy inside.

Robbie’s still keeping us in line.

"Do you want me to grab it after you finish? He did it for me earlier. What’s so funny?"

Tracking vocals and doing some over-dubbing tomorrow night. Hope to have this thing cranked out by the end of the week!

Studio [Day 1]

Our first day in the studio went swimmingly. We knocked out a scratch track (after fumbling around tempo changes for an hour or two) and Brian tracked about half of his drum part. (The poor guy recorded non-stop for two hours. What a champ.)

*Side note: Don’t touch a violist’s viola, as bad things will follow.

Robby’s doing a great job of keeping us focused, and making sure everything sounds as good as possible. We’re really stoked to be working with him. We’re heading back today to finish up drums and hopefully guitars.

And Dan will throw down more poses.

Thanks for following us, by the way. I’m sure you have better things to do than sit around and read about our mundane lives, and it means a lot that you’re at least somewhat invested in our future. We’d really like to think we’ve got something going here, and we’re glad you’re along for the ride!

Alright, enough with the sappy stuff. Back to the studio. More updates soon.
